About the Role

As a Co-Chair of BioTEC 2021, you will have a unique opportunity to lead a talented and diverse team of over 20 students. In planning and running the conference, you will co-lead operations, sponsorship, marketing, and finance teams working closely with each team’s Director to deliver an exceptional event. You will also have the opportunity to mentor students with a variety of backgrounds and interests, in the process cultivating substantial leadership skills.

Minimum Qualifications

We would love to meet you if you:

• Are interested in advancing Canada’s biomedical ecosystem;

• Have demonstrated significant leadership through academics, extra-curricular activities, or community involvement;

• Can communicate effectively (written and verbal);

• Thrive within a feedback-oriented environment (giving and receiving);

• Can manage priorities, timelines, and expectations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, without compromising on the quality of outputs;

• Can efficiently delegate, bridge gaps in cross-functional teams, and dive deep as needed;

 

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience working on a team to plan a conference

• Experience organizing logistics of a large event

• Experience running social media campaigns with paid advertising
