About the Role

As a pitch competition sponsorship lead of BioTEC 2021, you will have a unique opportunity to engage with venture capital firms, accelerators, and entrepreneurs in the biomedical ecosystem. You will lead the planning and execution of the pitch competition event by securing funds and recruiting judges from leading venture capital firms. You will also have the chance to connect with some of Canada’s most prominent student ventures in the field.

Minimum Qualifications

We would love to meet you if you:

• Are interested in advancing Canada’s biomedical ecosystem;

• Have demonstrated significant leadership through academics, extra-curricular activities, or community involvement;

• Can communicate effectively (written and verbal);

• Thrive within a feedback-oriented environment (giving and receiving);

• Can manage priorities, timelines, and expectations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, without compromising on the quality of outputs; 

 

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience in venture capital, private equity or client-facing role

• Experience running large-scale online or in-person events

• Experience fundraising and securing sponsors

• Comfortable communicating with industry experts and professionals (cold calling & emailing)
